Standard Revision: Capture Fisheries Standard (CFS)
The public consultation period (October–December 2020) for the CFS 2.0.0 is now closed. We would like to thank everyone who provided feedback during this period. Your comments will help improve the CFS and continue to drive positive impact globally.
Fair Trade USA will be processing the feedback received and working on finalizing the CFS 2.0.0. The final version of the standard will be published during the first semester of 2021. If you have any questions regarding the revision process, please email us at email@example.com.
The public consultation is part of Fair Trade USA’s commitment to transparency and diverse stakeholder input. Our Standard Development and Revision Procedure outlines the process we use to write and revise all our standards. This process is based on the ISEAL Code of Good Practice for setting Social and Environmental Standards. Feedback from public consultation will inform the finalization of the CFS version 2.0.0. A summary of the comments received, along with our responses, will be published along with the final standard. The standard will then be revised within five years of publication, in accordance with best practices in standard-setting.
The Draft CFS was available for public comment between October and December 2020. The draft was developed based off a review of learnings from the field and interviews with a selection of partners, producers, and experts from across different supply chains. This Draft CFS aimed to improve upon existing requirements to bring more benefit to producers in the fair trade system and increase value and efficiency for all supply chain partners.
